About the Journal

The word Partuat is an Iluko term which means production, craft or creation. Among the processes of cognition, creation is one of the highest expressions of knowledge. This journal, Partuat, aims to publish researches that target informed knowledge creation. It highlights the analysis and understanding of the living traditions of Indigenous Peoples and how knowledge about these concepts can be translated into data-driven educational policies for the improvement of IP education.

 

Focus and Scope

Partuat: JOURNAL OF LIVING TRADITIONS AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLES EDUCATION is a scholarly peer-reviewed journal and it is published annually. This is an Open Access Journal that strictly adheres to the principles of the peer review process.

The aim of the journal is to advance the scholarship and  knowledge in the areas of living traditions and indigenous peoples education. Articles can be written in English or Filipino language. It can be typically broad and represent diverse orientations towards living traditions and indigenous peoples education as well as differing methodologies for studying them. The journal also accepts reviews of literature and research-based and indeginized instructional materials. The journal is managed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies in Teacher Education Research and Indigenous Peoples Education (FGSTERIPEd) of Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNU NL).

 

Publications Ethics and Policy

Publishing an article in a peer-reviewed journal is a very critical task in disseminating knowledge. In a peer-reviewed journal, the accuracy of publication is expected from authors to be observed in the course of evaluating papers that are submitted. Thus, ethical conduct is anticipated for all parties involved in the publishing process: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher.

Papers will be accepted or rejected on the basis of importance in the field, originality and clarity of writing. The journal is double blind peer reviewed. The editorial processes follow standard procedures listed below:

  • Call for submissions
  • Article submissions and acknowledgements
  • Initial appraisal
  • Reviewing process
  • Author re-submissions if necessary
  • Further editing and processing
  • Evaluation for publication

Duplication, plagiarism, fraud authorship, data fabrication, salami publication, breaching of copyrights and prevailing conflict of interest are considered unethical and misconduct behavior. Authors are strongly suggested to be very well informed about them and avoid them under all circumstances.
